“Whiteside Gang”
Christmas 2007
Thank You for inquiring about
our rescue program.
Rescues are very infrequent. Re-homings are more frequent. Their have
been only 6 rescues in the last 7 years that our club has
been involved with. However, we have
assisted in 45 to 50 re-homings. Re-homings differ from rescues in
the fact that we will have a history of the dog and its need. The
youngest dog that has been in the program was 10 months old. Puppies
don't normally need to be placed until they get bigger than the owner
had intended. The adoption fee is nominal for both, and are now treated
the same.
We ask to be reimbursed for
medical bills that we have incurred if any. Please keep in mind that
most "rescue/rehome dogs" are place because of behavioral problems,
most, but not all. Many of the dogs issues were do to lack of training
and socialization. Most problems can be addressed and corrected in a
stable and loving home. If you really want a Berner, do tons of
research. Our advice is to attend shows, join a BMD club and research
breeders. If you would like to be considered for a rescue or re-homing,
please print out an application, and send it to the address on the
bottom of the application.
If you would like to
fill out an application let me know and I can send you one. Or, you can
print one from: hmbmdc.org under the “Application” bar at the bottom.
Only the people who
have returned applications will be considered as possible adoption
homes.
